Going The Distance

actually this thing has been on my mind for months, but just few minutes ago i realized that i have to get it out.

gue sadar bahwa jarak dan waktu memang berpengaruh. distance does matter. sama semuanya. contohnya pertemanan. or what we used to call "friendship". persahabatan.

contoh simpelnya gue. i had some high school friends i used to hang out with, but now we just dont. or i just dont. ya mungkin karena gue jauh dari radar pergaulan mereka yang rata2 kuliah di jakarta. by the time they started to hang out without me, i know that im no longer inside that inner circle. gimana perasaan gue? yaa kalo perasaan kesel sih ada aja awalnya. tapi kan kita gabisa maksain orang buat keeping up terus sama kita dong kalo emang they just simply dont want to. kalo kata ika natassa lagi, makin dewasa makin males lah kita ngurusin hal yang sebenernya gausah pusing2 dipikirin. just let it that way. toh namanya juga idup, some people leave and some people come and some people stay.

distance does matter. but it should not be. kenapa? because for me, the thing about distance is, is not about the distance itself. not how many kms away we are, not how many miles away we are. but it's how we 'see' the distance. gimana kita nganggep jarak itu sebagai sesuatu yg gaperlu dipusingkan, karena seberapajauh jarak itu, yang kita tau adalah orang-orang itu penting bagi kita, dan kita tau kalau orang itu pun ngerasain hal yang sama.

i am so grateful that God has given me chance to went the distance. why? karena kita bisa tau mana orang yang at least masih menganggap kita 'dibutuhkan'. orang2 yang melihat jarak itu sbg sesuatu yang bukan jadi halangan. like "yea she's far away from here, so what? it's just part of the fate we have to cope with"

so, my sight here is there's nothing wrong with going the distance. nothing wrong, nothing to worry about. be grateful because you'll know who will (still) have your back all along, who will (still) wait for you to come home, to gather around once more and tell each other what you've been missed. and the most important; who will always pray for you.
